Ramblin' Sunday-Bits and Pieces

Another Sunday is here. Seems the weekend goes fast and before you know it, Sunday afternoon is here. Like many let's start with weather. This weekend has turned out to be pleasant after all. The storms didn't get here in my part of the world. At least not in my neighborhood. Cool 70's breezy and partly cloudy. Refreshing after a hot and humid week. My friends in Florida would say "What you mean Willis?" since it was high 80's and low 90's and high humidity. What made it bad for me was my workplace. Nasty hot in the shop I work at. Lots of sweat for me. Still my Florida friends probably would say "that's not so bad, high 80's." And would say this weekend was a cold one lol. But it feels good to me.
I don't usually post politics, I did some at the asylum but I learned that wasn't too good but I kept that safe. Congress is working on a new Health care bill and it's a real joke. They are gung-ho on getting rid of what is nicknamed Obamacare. Well Obamacare is far from the answer we need for heath care coverage but this new proposal like the last one is a big step backwards. First people who now have insurance under Obamacare will lose their coverage. And I mean millions. Also it will raise a lot of rates and deductibles  on low to middle income people. Plenty of breaks for the high incomes. For people like me in that 60 something age group, we are going to pay more. Traditionally insurance charged younger people more because the way life is. In my age range you make less than you did when you were younger at least sort of depending on your career. For me and many others we didn't worry too much about Obamacare or what the next health care would be because we got our insurance through work. This bill changes that too. Rates are going to increase even more and as most of us know they have been rising steadily anyway. So how is this new bill better? What's with this Administration and Congress trying to do everything it can to undo the previous Administration's policies and laws? It's shameful and certainly won't make America great again. We're going backwards, heading to isolate America from the rest of the world. Our Allies will soon not exist.
Okay enough rant about that. Well I'm managing to blog at least once a week and it feels pretty good. Maybe I can find the time to do more than once a week. In the land long ago I remember the everyday posts. Seems like a lifetime ago...
So let's begin this new week with positive thoughts and go from there. Okay Captain......

Rammblin' Sunday

Another week has passed by. Today is Father's Day. I sure miss my dad. The last few years of his life he lived in an assisted living facility. One of things he had was dementia. It wasn't real apparent when I would see him. Though sometimes he came up with memories that weren't real at all. But the one thing I can say is, he always greeted me with a smile when I would visit him and he never forgot who I was or any of my siblings. It was a rough year 2016. Losing my cousin was another shock and I miss him a lot too. Another post I'll write about him. Well I've not been able to get rid of this cold yet and of course I gave it to my gf. Still we were hoping her daughter would come by(we always dream about this) for Father's Day. Since my gf has been in a wheelchair we've missed so much. And it's not like she lives that far away. Maybe 45 minutes? I will write all about this one day to. For now rant is over. At least I got a text wishing me a Happy Father's Day lol.....
Well the weirdest thing just happened for the second time today. There was a little thunder and it started to rain while the sun was shining brightly. Go figure...here's a pic of my dad with one of the grand kids....RIP...till we meet again.....

Ramblin' Sunday

Last night something interesting happened on the other blog site I am on, myboomerplace. First some history. I followed my friends from Multiply there right before Multiply gave us the boot. In some ways it's like Multiply. You can design cool themes and you can post graphics in each friends guestbook. On Multiply and Myboomerplace I don't really know how to design much of a theme since I don't know how to write css code. But like Multiply there are those that design very well. One of them on Myboomerplace designed quite a few for the people on the site to use and that's where I copy and paste and Boo Yah...I got a cool theme.
One thing I can say about the sites I frequent now is I've met some really cool people that were on Multiply but I had never met them while I was on Multiply. So one of those people last night sends me a message asking if I had looked at the poetry blog contest winner's post. I had not so I went to see. It was a lovely poem and  he had also sent me a link. As I looked at the comments he had posted the link there too. Well the guy who won the poetry post with this poem actually took it from another site (that was what the link was, the site the poem had originally been posted and the author), and claimed the credit for his own. The guy that sent me the link and had me looked had commented "Busted" and the link in the comment section.  Today he told me he had also contacted administration about it. So I was a little surprised by all this. However it seems to me ever since I started on social sites it's always been a problem with some who like to steal and claim stuff as their own. So why do we stay around places like this? I think it's because all of us like to believe it's just a few bad apples.
Well the cold I picked up this week really threw me for a loop. I went in Friday to work and only made it a half hour. I'm feeling better than Friday but still not that good. Summer colds seem to hang on longer, wonder why that is....
Yes I stole, well copied this pic from the graphic site I use for my comments at social sites....have a great week.....

Ramble on and on....sorta..

Today as I was cutting the grass I thought of a lot of things to ramble on about. Wish I could remember them all now.  Today has been the most beautiful day here all year. It's still about 84 degrees as I write this. So like my friend here, I too am writing about weather. It's the thing to do when thoughts just don't come and it always explains the day/night where we live. For the record our average rain is around +10 inches. It's a lot. The past decade has sure made storms a lot different than when I was growing up. All around the world devastating storms have caused havoc on a scale we have not seen. And it's global warming. There is no denying that fact. The arguments you hear don't say it's not real. They say things like, we're not adding to it. Well science says we are adding to it. Fake science says the opposite. I don't like to do political stuff but this country is in trouble. The big joke is our politics. It gets worse everyday. And now the top brass is going to break the regulations so we can add more to global warming. It's time to get ready for a big meltdown. Our government has become one big circus and it's about to fall as we isolate ourselves from the rest of the world. Good thing I won't post this at that "asylum" of a social site, I'd be in deep do-do lol.
So anyhoo this part of my post wasn't what I had my mind as I mowed the grass today. What I was thinking about was my neighbor family across the street whom didn't  live there when I was growing up, posted a sign in his yard congratulating his daughter's graduation from high school. The very school I graduated from as you can guess. Made me realize how much time goes by and suddenly you become aware that a lot of it has. My grand daughter is also graduating from high scool this year and will be headed off to college in the fall. How time flies.....
