Sunday 5-5-2019
It's now official. As of Friday I am retired. It hasn't quite sunk in yet, this being a weekend but Monday I'm sure it will when I wake and realize I don't have to head off to work. It's kind of bitter sweet in many ways. Yet I'm comfortable I've made the right decision to retire. I'll still be busy, lots of unfinished business here at home. Yesterday I met my stepdaughter and her husband for dinner to celebrate my retirement. That was so nice. Soon they will be taking a vacation to Florida once again. I think this is the third time they have escaped here for the beach and fun. Till next time..a blast from the past...

I think you made the right decision too. I only wish I could afford to retire...right now I can work and save my SS (which is not enough to live on and never will be). Planning ahead was not something I did very well. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kat! I was lucky enough to get debt free thanks to some money my dad left us. I have my current 401K and some in an IRA I started from the 401K from my last job. I'll be able to take a some from those and along with SS be able to live without having to work. At least for now. I don't think anyone can just live on SS. (((Hugs)))
DeleteWell congratulations Greg!! As long as you stay busy I think you will enjoy your retirement. And I am waiting for you to get a camera and share all the pictures you can from your area. It's the only way I see the world, through everyone's pictures lol. Hope you enjoy your week. I have been busy but maybe I can manage to write something this week. Hugss
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Lia! I have plenty to keep me busy. Lots to do here at home. I'm going to get a camera pretty soon. I was going to get one at the same place I got the last. However they have a big road project going and now I have to find an alternative route to get there. The city isn't making that very easy lol. In the meantime I'll use my phone camera to take more pics since I di have the time now ha ha. (((Hugs)))
DeleteThat would be nice. I don't even care what the pictures are, you know me, simple things make me happy. Trees, birds, the street, buildings, cats, dogs, worms LOLOL. I just like to see the world through someone else's eyes. I have a few pictures I need to post on a blog and maybe write a bit too. Going to make a point to do that this week. DeleteAlways loved your pictures of the visitors that come by your home. Lot of squirrels around here, I take some pics of them chasing each other in my back yard. (-:
